VR Type 24 - proof reading

VR Type 24 (proof-reading) is a question type that commonly appears in 11 plus exams.

In these questions you typically have to identify punctuation, spelling or grammar errors in sentences.

e.g. Grammar error: I don’t want no dinner.  This is incorrect as there is a double negative ‘don’t and ‘no’. The sentence should read ‘I don’t want any dinner.’

e.g. Spelling error: The smell of the sea invoked many happy memories. This is incorrect as the work ‘invoked’ should instead be ‘evoked’.

e.g. Punctuation error:  “How can I help you”. This is incorrect as there should be a ? before the last speech marks as this is a question.
