VR Type 12.2 - antonyms (word grid)

Antonyms (word grid) is a question type that commonly appears in 11 plus exams.

For these questions you are given a word grid and asked to find the most opposites (antonym) of a given word or short definition.

e.g. Which two words are the most opposite to the meaning of the word attack?


The answer is bout and assault.

’bout’ means a dose of something e.g. She has a bout of flu. ‘assault’ means to attack e.g. The man was arrested for a violent assault.
