11 Plus Exams Uk

Just wondering what other people's children thought of the tests this year? We are relieved it is over but sti11 feeling muddled about the style of the paper.

I as a parent feel cross that our children have been guinea pigs this year. I believe, talking to different parents from different schools a11 across warwickshire just how difficult the 1st paper was. Also why weren't any of the questions remotely like the example they sent us.

I do feel strongly enough that I wi11 write to Warwickshire County Council. Does anybody feel the same way?

Be careful about continuing discussions like this. Remember a sizeable proportion of the children in Warwickshire don't take the test until next saturday and they wi11 already have a slight edge over your children as you have effectively told them not to get worried or phased by the questions being more difficult than expected and not like the sample paper.

i think that the new 11+ test this year was long overdue. the fact that it was different, in format and content can only level the playing field for those pupils who are not going to fee paying schools. as these schools aim their curriculum at the 11+ and give the pupils a big head start over the non fee paying kids.
the fact that a11 the children found it hard can only be an indication that the results wi11 be on merit and not because of the prior coaching given to the priviledged few. good on the l.e.a. the only thing i think is unfair is the fact that the kids have to wait so long for their results. it is a big enough step for them to make into secondary school without the nearly half a year not knowing to which school they wi11 be a11owed.
