Could anyone advise as to which Dictionary and Theaurus the GlS use to base their Verbal reasoning on there are so Many I heard that the Oxford fo Younger ones but there is a umber of different ones and having made one mistake already and spent out on the Oxford Childrens Dictionary and Thesaurus only to find some of the NFER practice paper words not in them Please Help ASAP 11 plus is looming on the horizon.. Thank for all you do I have been spreading th word about this site to everyone and making use of the cards for games etc......

I personally don't think you need to worry which dictionary is used - if indeed there is a set dictionary used by 11 plus exam publishers. Even if you knew of a certain dictionary, what are you going to do? Get your child to learn every word it contains? My advice is not to worry about word lists and work on general vocabulary building.
