You need some cheats to help with your speed.

Firstly this is a long(ish) sequence. This means (more often than not) that there is a 'leapfrog' effect going on.

Work backwards from the ( ) and skip every other group......

you get (??) -- RX -- SD -- TJ -- UP -- (so within a few seconds you can work out the first letter is 'Q') - check your multiple choice answers as you may have solved it already (I doubt it but sometimes you get lucky)

An even better cheat would be to go for the second letter straight away ....

Using the same method of jumping and moving backwards we get -

(?) - x - D - J - P

This is a 6 letter jump........so the correct 2nd letter is 'R'. Hopefully, there is only one answer with R as the answer - if so you could have this answered in just a few seconds.

Does this make sense or should I explain it a bit more???

Also - I would add that these questions normally do take a little longer than other types - do not worry about that as there are plenty of 'quick ones' to compensate.

If you really do take too long at these types - then it may be best to leave them until the end of the real test.
