TOPIC: Anwering Questions in order

Anwering Questions in order 2 years, 2 months ago #2558

My daughter finds that she is able to answer certain questions types quicker than others.

Are all questions worth the same marks, or, can she answer the easiers ones first and then return to the others before the end if she has time?

Normally, each question is worth one mark.

Sure, your daughter can definitely answer the easier ones first and then return to the others. In the test, no one cares what order you do the questions in.

Are you talking about multiple choice or standard format. If multiple choice try not to skip around too much a guess is better than a blank space. The only problem with skipping around the paper is that there is very little time in the exam. I encourage my pupils to work through solidly, but not to spend too long on the questions that are causing them problems. Any she misses out should be circled on the question sheet so that she knows where to find them again. In the last minute she should check that there are no blank spaces and fill in a guess anywhere she finds one.
