TOPIC: where to start from now? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

where to start from now? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 year, 10 months ago #2830

I am new on this website, and almost know nothing about the grammar school and 11+ exam.

My daughter is in ye5 of one state primary school. She is in the middle group of the class at moment, though her result of sat stage1 (year2) put her on the top 5 in her class. I am not sure she will be capable for 11+ or not. Personally, i believe she is a very bright girl, speakes 3 languages and has a great of understanding ablility.

My next question is, if she is ok for the exam, are we too late to start from just now, as we didnt attent any tutorials, nor contacts any information about this exam and grammar school.

Third, I am in ealing area London, not sure which grammar shcool we can apply for. And how many we can apply. If we apply for 3 schools, does it mean we have to sit all these schools exams on 3 different dates and exams methods?

I had a glance on this forum, and read some replies saying they would help with the prepartion plan, can anyone kindly suggest one according to our situation?

Finally, thanks for any tips and hints, and eagerly look forward any helps come up asap as i really want to find out.

Your starting point is the same as your finishing point.

You need to focus on which school you think would be best for your daughter. Sounds easy enough!

Then you need to find out from either the Local Education Authority (part of Ealing Borough Council?) or directly from your chosen school / schools exactly what entrance exams your daughter needs to take - if any.

Some areas only have Verbal Reasoning - some test VR, Non-verbal, maths, english all of them or some combination of them.

My advice is to find that out first of all - then get back to the good people here and someone should be able to help you with a plan of attack.

Don't panic - you have enough time - but it would be best to jump on it straight away and enjoy making a nuisance of yourself if you need to.
