My son has done a number of practice papers, including the Letts ones. The exams he will be setting are prepared by GL Assessment, and they have their own practice papers. I know they did have an association with Letts, and I'm wondering whether their papers are the exact same as Letts (ie identical word-for-word), or different. I did contact GL but they were unable to tell me whether they were the same as they hadn't seen Letts papers recently. Can anybody help - I want to avoid buying papers that are identical to those we already have. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure they are the exact same papers just branded differently. In fact we had somebody return them a little while ago for this reason.

Are you doing just Verbal Reasoning or other subjects too? The Chuckra VR papers are very close in style and difficulty to the GL Assessment ones. Once you have done all the free ones on this site I recommend our past mock test papers.

Other good publishers which are great preparation for GL Assessment tests are Bond, IPS, AE and Susan Daughtrey.

Some of our local grammar schools (Trafford)actually sell Letts Practice Tests at prospective Parents' Evenings as examples of their tests - their entrance exams are all based on the GL Assessment Tests - so I would suggest they are suitable.

Yes, Letts books are definitely suitable. Mark is just wanting to make sure he doesn't buy the same book twice! He says he's already done the Letts papers. GL Assessment practice books used to be known as nfer. Then they were branded as Letts. The actual questions have remained the same throughout all the different namings so there is no point him buying the latest GL Assessment pack if he has already bought the Letts book.
